ABOUT ME &
My APPROACH

The way that I work has been directly informed by my experience. The basis of my training, and the position from which I approach working with people, is Person-Centred.

I am always guided by my clients and their experience and this often leads us to recognise the impact of trauma on the body, so we might explore why this is.

Guilt, shame and self criticism are often present, and so we might explore self-compassion and ways of balancing this with drive.

Passionate About Supporting Others

Working outdoors

I do my best thinking outdoors. Spending time in nature is really important to me and it helps to keep me grounded. I wanted to incorporate walk-and-talk approach as an option for clients who might find it more difficult to sit face to face in a room or on a computer.

Working online

I want to support as many people I can - so for those who are not able to join me outdoors in Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales, I also offer online therapy, through a secure video platform. I know from time spent Mentoring and supporting Men's Groups online that this approach works really well for many people and that safe connections and working relationships can be made from an environment that works for the individual.

This is me in an ice hole.

Cold water swimming in the Lake District helps to keep me grounded.
